Astro GCSU Day 8

Hey everyone! We are officially one week through SSP which is crazy – it literally feels like yesterday that I just arrived 🙂

Sundays are the one day of the week where we don’t have lectures, so today was kind of a chill day. I woke up at 8am to do my laundry, but unfortunately someone beat me to it by a couple minutes, so I had to wait until 8:45 to do it – while I waited, I ate a bagel for breakfast. I tried strawberry cream cheese for the time, (it kind of tastes like strawberry jam) and I highly recommend the reader to try it

After doing my laundry, I called my parents and siblings; during SSP, I’m always so busy, but today I finally had time to catch up with my family which was nice. Then, I took a nap.

At noon we had lunch and then I went back to my room to watch some videos about multivariable (we had a lecture on this yesterday). I took bc calculus this past year, so multivariable calc was all new to me. I watched khanacademy’s videos to reinforce some of the concepts, and I didn’t realize that Grant Sanderson from 3b1b made those videos!!!! I love his channel (go check it rn) and he’s such an amazing teacher! I definitely understand a lot more of multivariable now.

Then, we went to the pool because it was wicked hot – a high of like 100 degrees and extremely humid. We played categories, marco polo, etc. Last week I got sunburned, so I made sure to put on lots of sunscreen this time – the Georgia sun is no joke!

Once I came back from the pool, I showered and ate dinner. Thennnnnn it was pset time! (We did have a paper airplane competition for whose plane could be in the air the longest or could travel the furthest lol) I finished PSet 2 (except for the matplotlib which one of the professors will go over tomorrow) and I cleaned up my LSPR coding assignment – it was so messy and unreadable before, but I think it has greatly improved. I also tried to blink the images of my asteroid, which….had a lot of issues. But it ended up all working out – I’ve learned patience is really important!!

Now it’s 10:49pm. I planned on going to bed at 10pm, but at SSP my bedtime schedule is definitely not the same as it was at home. Well ,writing this blog post was the last thing on my agenda today, so I’m going to return to my dorm. Goodnight!
