Happy Saturday! Time has been going so fast. After working late last night on finding the final bugs in my code, it started to set in just how far we’ve come in SSP. It’s surreal to see that everyone is finishing up their final code and writing reports for their projects as it seems like only yesterday that we conducted our first observations. I can’t believe that this is our last normal Saturday.
I woke up just in time to get ready and make it to Herty a bit early, where Dr. C gave a lecture about the evolution and life cycles of stars. On Saturdays there is no afternoon lecture, so after a quick lunch I was able to go back to Bell and do my laundry. The best thing about Saturdays is that we get to go into the town! However, before we could get to town, we were surprised by our new TA “Gabriel”, our old TA Evan’s short haired twin.

Daniela, Divya, Jasmine, Taja, Lindy, and I started out our trip around town by going to Coasties Bakery. Try the kitchen sink cookie. Not to be missed!

Then, we went to The Brick. We shared sweet potato fries and cauliflower bites. This was my first time trying cauliflower bites, and they were very good, however that may be simply because of my immense love for ranch.

Finally, we went to Blackbird, a cute coffee shop where we got matcha lattes.

On my way to Herty to work for the night, I went to see the GCSU cats that always hang out in the parking lot outside of the dorm. I think this one is starting to like me :).

One last bit of amazing news is that some groups are going to be attempting a parallax experiment with groups of the same asteroids at NMSU! With relatively clear skies, we’re hopeful that it will succeed. Good luck Wacky Wiggling Worms and Stuck in Venus! Time to get back to the new PSET!
