Today we had our long-awaited beach trip (previously postponed due to weather). We all eagerly awoke bright and early to board the bus by 9 a.m.; many immediately went back to sleep for the long ride while others hopped in an Among Us lobby and played a few rounds. After some sleep and gaming, we stopped at a delicious pizza place that had the biggest pizza slices I have ever seen.
We fueled up and hopped back in the bus to get to the beach. It was a beautiful sunny day and everyone was eager for a refreshing dip in the water. I accidentally got stranded on a floatie and almost died but a lovely lady helped tow me back to shore.
After some swimming, I headed onto the boardwalk for a sweet treat and shopping. Then it was time for dinner, which was sandwiches, wraps, and fruit (much better than Chase!). Finally, we all boarded the bus (most people passed out for the ride back except Harrison and James who played rock paper scissors for 40 minutes) to head back to Old West for a shower before Psets at Phillips. To everyone’s disappointment, thunder and lightning prevented us from heading to Phillips until past 11 p.m., at which point many people had already given up and headed to bed or worked on their Psets at the dorms. Overall it was another great SSP day and I can’t wait for more fun!
About Me:
Hi! I’m Scarlett and I’m from Northern Virginia. I like to golf, coach volleyball, and go to the gym with my sister in my free time. I have loved expanding my understanding of math, physics, and coding here at SSP, and I have especially enjoyed the Astronomy lectures. I am excited to keep learning and get more images of my group’s asteroid (2007 FV42).
