I believe it has been 6 days since the program has started, and it has been quite the experience so far. That’s an intentionally ambiguous sentence. It’s definitely been difficult so far, I’m not used to working at the ungodly hours we need to. Once my meds wear off, all bets are off. I have the attention span of a gnat, and no, buddies don’t really help. But I have had fun, too; it’s a new environment and I’ve met a ton of new people. I’m really liking learning to code, and I’m excited to keep improving. I’m also really excited to write my OD code. That should be fun.
It’s only been a week, but there have been many highs and lows already. For example, my personal highlight of the program so far has been hiking in the mountains by campus. Sure, I enjoy lecture as much as the next guy, but I need to be out and about at least a little bit. So the hike was a nice change of pace. The Target trip was definitely high.
Overall, I have had a great time so far and am excited for whatever the next five weeks might hold. The people, work, and activities have already created a tight knit community.
