Hello 🙂 My name is Sindia and I’m a rising senior from Hot Springs, AR. It’s been about two weeks since we’ve arrived and I’m just blown away by the amount of time that has passed.
View from our bathroom?!?
Today we had two very condensed lectures and a lot of lab time. Surprisingly the day had relatively good flow and plenty of progress was made with our experiments. We did some drip plates today and it has by far been the most difficult lab technique.
Fun Lab stuff!!
Spending time here, getting to know each person, has filled me with appreciation. Even the TA’s have fun stories to tell, and it’s truly amazing to connect with them. Despite finding our jokes annoying, they know how to have fun and create a vibrant atmosphere.
The remainder of the day our entire group went to an escape room downtown. We were placed into random groups, and I got to spend an hour trying to escape a titanic escape room. It was pretty hectic, but my group and a couple of others made it through. The waiting area was where all fun was though. We got a couple of TA’s to play Moose Master (basically means a lot of yelling and commotion).
Townhouses and city view during our walk back.
When we finally got back, everybody and I mean everybodyyyy headed to the common room (lounge room) on our floor. Usually, when we get back from lectures and labs, we crowd in the common room to play games like uno, cards, roblox, or sometimes even karaoke. Even when we’re exhausted, we try to make time for the fun little things.
Well that’s it! It’s brief but I hope some of this is reminiscent of our experience here. I can’t wait to make more new memories.
