Today is finally Friday! We are all excited for the fun weekend ahead!
Today we had a long day of 8 hours in the lab. We started working on studying the properties of our enzymes. Lunch today was insanely crowded. Purdue was doing their freshman orientation. Instead of doing our usual lunch at the PMU. We went to a French bakery across the street for smoothies and sandwiches.
After lunch we headed back to the lab for a few more hours and almost missed dinner. At dinner, butter chicken, rice, and Italian food were served. After dinner, it was announced that there would be a field competition between the Purdue teams: the Bigfoots, the Yetis, the Dragons, and the Pegasi. The field day was split into a two sport tournament, a one inning kickball game and a best of 3 volleyball game to 25 points. The Yetis, coached by Ritvik Pulya, game out on top, closing the kickball game and the volleyball match without a hassle. The kickball game and the volleyball game were very close and we competed against the Dragons both times. Ian Anderson and Ahmad finished the game with two infield home runs sealing the Yetis victory. The Yetis will be given their reward tomorrow.
Tomorrow, as a fun activity, we are going bowling in the PMU. We are excited for another day of competition and to continue our journey at SSP.
