Day 7- Sunday Funday (Biochemistry Purdue II)

Sunday. Finally, our day of rest is here. Today, June 23rd, is the first day of the program where we had no study sessions, labs, or lectures. It’s a well-deserved rest after a week of work and learning. This week has been an eye-opening experience for many of us. The academics have been rigorous, but the best part has been the people. Any participant of SSP Biochem will tell you how much they are enjoying the program. We work hard, but there is always time for a laugh and a quick game of Mario Kart. It’s crazy to think that a week ago we were all strangers. Now, everyone, including the TAs (even you Ritvik), feels like they are part of the SSP family.

This Sunday was a rest day. Many students here at SSP took advantage of this to review and revise for the week ahead. The past week was filled with tough content, so taking the time to revise now can help participants absorb information more fully. Our TAs, Anthony and that other guy, helped us out whenever we had questions.

After dinner, we got the chance to go play basketball and volleyball. It was really fun and a great change of pace from classroom instruction and labs. Sunday was a great rest/team building day and we got closer as a SSP Cohort.
