Extremely Absolutely 100% Serious Sunday

Ordinarily, I devote as much time as I can on Sundays to resting. I generally wake up around 2:00p.m., walk around the ponds by Arnett, read, watch TV, do a facemask, get dinner, and maybe do some light work afterwards – really whatever my heart desires (and what I have energy for – we stay up extra late on Saturdays). But this Sunday was no ordinary Sunday – we were finally seeing Minions: Rise of Gru. I had rested up as much as possible to prepare for the day’s events, and after waking up around noon, I brushed my teeth, did a sheet mask, got dressed in my Sunday best, and headed to the lobby. As we drove in groups of four to the theater, the excitement was almost tangible, and as we purchased snacks and sat down for the movie it reached a climax.

Not a moment too soon, the lights dimmed. We were locked in for the viewing experience of a lifetime. I was overcome with emotion, and though I remember the movie within a fuzzy haze of passion, to say that I was transformed would be an understatement. I laughed, I cried, and I returned to the outside world with a new lease on life.

The Procession

Upon my return to the SBO, I felt a new sense of motivation. I quickly got to work with a few friends, and we played music until around midnight when the last bunch of us headed back to arnett. All in all, it was a 10000/8 bananas sort of day.

On a serious note, Sunday (and the last week overall) were really nice. After a busy first two weeks, having a bit more time to reflect on this summer so far has made me more sentimental. I feel like I’ve already learned a ton and gotten way closer to a lot of people, and I’m really going to miss everyone here (and this environment as whole), as busy as it can be.
