HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY!!!
Today we truly feel proud to be AMERICANS! ๐บ๐ฒ โค๏ธ
Before we went to the park we had so much fun with Galaxy ๐!
Today was truly a great moment in the program. It was jam packed with activities and fun events. We had the opportunity to play and bond with Biochemistry students at IU even though we at first were losing in volleyball 50 to 5 ๐ . It was and truly will be one of the most memorable Fourth of July moments me and everyone in Genomics have and will have. Moments like these are so few and precious to us all.
Moments after Veer awoke from his slumber. ๐ฎ In the background can be seen Dr. DUFFY!!! This is the first time he ever joined us on one of our field trips.
Everyone had a blast playing and passing the volleyball to each other.
Booke and Nelson practicing their spikeball skills to prepare for some competition. Anas, being from New Jersey, brought some fire moves to the table when it was time to play.
We got the opportunity to enjoy some amazing burgers and hot dogs cooked up by the Biochemistry site director ๐.
I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream ๐ฆ.
Volleyball was so much fun. After the first game, the Genomics squad turned up and destroyed the Biochemistry kids in a game of volleyball. We were all hitting serves left and right. Alvin may have gotten injured today, but he played through it like champ.
Us Genomics kids decided to play a basketball match against the Biochemistry students. Travis and Elgin brought the heat ๐ฅ. They were making shots and layups left and right. We ended up with a ๐.
We were no punks today when we lit up some punks, sparklers. Although we could not see fireworks at the park, playing with these punks was the next best thing. ๐งจ
Ooh more fire. Today we demonstrated science in action.
It would not be a proper day if the boys did not come together for a picture ๐. We killed this photo ๐ค .
I am proud to say even the clouds were patriotic ๐บ๐ธ. The red and white clouds fit perfectly in the blue sky.
I spy some fireworks!! This was very unexpected. Anas, Nelson, Amarri, Ian, and Minhong come over to Elgin and Travis’s room to experience this spectacular view.
This was truly a night to remember. Elgin, Amarri, Ian, Minhong, Travis, and Anas sat by the window side viewing some fireworks. In the background we blasted the Star Spangled Banner and some country music to truly embrace our patriotism. Legends say Minhong was converted from Korean to American on this day. In all, we had a blast! ๐
