Every day we start out with our morning lecture, which in this case was about Calculus. I was pretty worried, as this hadn’t been taught in my school yet and thus my knowledge regarding it is pretty limited, but the rest of the campers here were always ready to help me in case I didn’t understand anything, for which I’m really grateful. I think this sense of collaboration is amazing, because nobody can be perfect in every area, so people here really work to compliment each other. Additionally, we always make sure to leave some time to have fun on the side. We’ve been playing a lot of Spikeball recently, and it’s much fun, just being able to take a break and get some adrenaline, playing for the match point with your teammate and having that rush whenever you get a good spike and win. We’ll even have a tournament tomorrow. On top of that, we visited the campus’ library, which was amazing. They’ve got some really interesting sections, like a quiet room and even a small museum where you can just wander about. Overall, I’ve had an amazing experience so far, learning about so many new topics at an impressive rate, as well as meeting people from a variety of different backgrounds, so I’m really happy I’ve been given this amazing opportunity.
Hello, my name is José and I’m an international student from Monterrey, Mexico. I really enjoy playing the guitar, tenis, rock-climbing, and watching F1, but above all of this, I’ve always had an interest in mathematics and any field that this could be extended to, be it physics, computer science, or even finance. Because of this, I knew SSP would be synonymous with a great experience for me. I wanted to challenge myself and actually improve in areas in which I hadn’t gotten the chance of improving individually, and SSP has been the perfect place to do that.
