Hello fellow participant (and anyone else)! My name is Dmitrii Baltykov from Astro 2 at NMSU, and today, I will be the one who will lead today’s blog.
When I applied to this program, I expected “learning from a fire horse” experience at its finest. Today’s lecture was about finishing theory about OD, so it was once again math-heavy. But I like it, and I decide to draw a rabbit’s face on my cup of coffee (without a cup I would be not able to stay awake for long).
After lunch we had physics’s lecture about momentum and different aspects regarding center of mass of the system. Our professor, Dr. Robison bring a wheel for us to demonstrate an experiment. To the end, me and my classmates decided to have a fun time with it, as you can see at the picture.
Right after that, we had meeting with our first guest speaker of the week — Dr. Sarah McAnulty. She talked about squids, how she likes them, and how they help us solving today’s problems. Thank you for lecture, Dr. McAnulty.
After our formal dinner, problem-solving! We currently working on finishing Centroid and LSPR programs, so we could use them in future for our research.
And I got into storm! Completely wet, I was needed to continue finishing everything that needs to be done today. I’m really tired, but it’s worth it!
And that was it for today! Hope you enjoyed it!
