Saturday, June 29 marked our first stargazing experience at SSP. We started off the day with an exciting morning lecture with Dr. Dubson. We were supposed to talk about imaginary numbers but he decided that it wasn’t important and instead starting talking about college and grad school. We spent an eventful afternoon grinding Psets and at five we finally gathered for a stargazing trip at Mud Lake.
It was raining when we got there so I thought we weren’t going to be seeing any stars 😦
I went for a hike with my friends, but the sky was still cloudy.
Eventually we went back on our bus and went somewhere with less clouds (well, there was still a lot).
Luckily the sky cleared up and we can all see the pretty stars!
We layered on top of each other to make use of limited towel area.
I was mesmerized, and I’m sure others are too. Many of us have never seen this many stars before in our life!
