July 3, Wednesday, Week 3
Wednesday might be the most mid day of all, but at SSP it means something special. It’s the only day we are allowed to go to the REC center. The CUB Student Recreation Center is a huge sporting facility with many different activities you can try out. But only on Wednesdays 🙁 Since scarcity creates demand, when Wednesday rolls around many of us wake up early to go to the gym before lectures. Today I went for a morning swim and even tried out springboard diving!
The excitement of it finally being Wednesday again didn’t leave us in the afternoon either. After lectures and after dinner many participants went back to the REC center to play basketball, go climbing, or play even more tennis.
Although going to the gym only once a week might seem too little for some, don’t worry. You won’t get completely out of shape during SSP, since we often go hiking. The Flatirons are the perfect place to get your cardio in. Just look at us last Sunday on the top of the Royal Arch.
About Me: I’m Berenika, I study in Denmark but come from Czechia. Although I want to study theoretical physics, SSP is my first real encounter with astrophysics specifically. In my free time I enjoy playing volleyball, reading, and watching rom-coms.
