It’s June 26th – the middle of the second week – and, while I still miss home, I’ve gotten a bit more used to living by myself, with my new friends. To be honest, I don’t really remember what happened in the morning, but I’m sure that I ate an extremely healthy breakfast and paid a lot of attention in lecture 😇😁. I’d usually go on a walk in the morning and practice some music, but I do remember that I might’ve gone out of bed a little bit too late.
It was the afternoon that was more interesting, though. Since we had a field trip, we tragically didn’t have afternoon lecture today – just kidding, I think I’ve generally been enjoying the stuff I’ve learnt so far. Anyways, today we had the chance to go shopping at Pearl Street, and my friends and I hit up all the shops (albeit without buying much).
We first went to go get ice cream at the Haagen Dazs store there. The small smoothies there were an insane $10, but heat + peer pressure = not passing financial literacy 101, so we collectively spent around $100 dollars on ice cream and smoothies in 10 minutes after being lured in by some free samples 💀. Afterwards, we didn’t have much to do, so we went to go “test out” (abuse) the air-conditioned seating areas of the North Face store.
Walking back to the dorm was the most eventful part of the day. Suddenly, out of nowhere, it just started raining. Like it actually just started pouring, with lightning every 5 seconds, too – it was pretty crazy. Vincent and I ran back to our dorm, and by the time we got back it was sunny again 😭.
Nighttime was pretty routine, though. My friends and I worked on our problem sets and we walked backed home around midnight. Overall, it was a pretty cool day – would relive.
