SWOSU Day 12: My day at SSP Synthetic Chemistry

Hello everyone. My name is Al Nguyen, a rising highschool senior. It is my honor to tell you what a day is like at the first SSP Synthetic Chemistry program!

Yesterday was a busy day so I left myself a lot of time to sleep. I grabbed a donut and a milk carton, walking to class at 7:50. (The donut was amazingly delicious 😋.)

Today I got to work on my compound after a long time waiting for it to react. I filtered my compound and then ran mass spectroscopy for it. It turned out my compound was good!

After lab, I worked with my friends on p-sets. We were so hardworking!

It is picture day so we took some awesome pictures afterward. I can’t wait to show y’all the photos, but they are only released after the program 🥹.

In the afternoon, we got to meet our first guest speaker – Indrajeet Sharma. We learned from him about many aspects of the science career.

Then as usual, we had our organic chemistry class. The class is challenging but it’s fun! My friends and I are working on the p-set of the class right now. After this, we’re gonna play some board games and have ramens.

Now I have to continue working on my p-set. Thank you for reading my blog, have a great day!
