Ruoyi’s Day in the Life at SSP – Sunday Edition
After a busy first week at SSP Synth Chem, the long awaited Sunday arrived. It was a free day with virtually nothing scheduled except for the formal dinner. Read along as I recap what occurred during this eventful day.
~ 12:00- 1 AM: Started the day with early morning essay writing for a PSET. After finishing, I went to sleep at around 1 AM.

~8:35-10 AM: I woke up and started my morning routine. Thankfully, there were no early morning lab which meant that I was able to take my time. Then I headed to breakfast/brunch at the Chemistry, Pharmacy, Physics (CPP) Building since the dining hall was closed.

~ 10:00-11 AM: Finished brunch.

~11:00-11:20 AM: Witnessed the grand opening of the IKEA Chair Shop owned by Wei, Jenny, and Isabelle.

~ 11:20 AM-12:30 PM: Worked on the orgo problem sets until I got tired of chemistry and went on a walk in the nearby garden.

~12:30-3:15 PM: Finished up the orgo problem sets with much needed help from the lovely TAs.

~3:30-4 PM: Played an intense but fun card game called Cameo before we needed to get ready for dinner.

~4:20-4:40 PM: Headed to dinner and waited in a line that was out of the front door of the dining hall.

~4:40-5:30 PM: Had dinner. The lines were all super long.
~5:30-7:30 PM: Did some miscellaneous chores/tasks such as using the copier in the CPP building to create spectra small enough to paste into my lab notebook and vacuum cleaning my dorm room.
Caption: On the walk to the CPP building with my spectra in hand.
Caption: I was the first person to use the communal vacuum cleaner!
~7:30-9 PM: Played beach volleyball!

~9-11 PM: Went back to the dorm, and showered. After that, I started working on the blog that you are currently reading!
As I am currently writing this very sentence, it is 10:59 PM. I am planning to clean up the dorm room, do my nighttime skincare routine, review some of the organic chemistry content that I did not understand before, and wake up bright and early (hopefully) tomorrow for a morning group run.
