Hi! I’m Emma and it’s the 24th of June, which means that there are 23 days left of the program. Time is passing by so fast! This morning, Dr. Z gave us a lecture on brightness and color in stars and asteroids. It was really interesting! I wrote a ton of notes.
Later, during lunch, a few of my friends and I got some Butterfly Pea Matcha from a nearby cafe. It’s called The Meantime Coffee Co, and it’s owned by some college students at UNC, I think. We saw some other participants walking around with fast food—we’ll probably visit those restaurants in a few days. I lowkey need to spend less money. I have to save for Saturday thrifting!
Usually, we have another lecture or two after lunch, but today we went on a field trip and toured a research facility for particle acceleration. The researchers there led us around and talked about the processes and equipment they use. After that, it was the usual and then sleep kind of. That’s it for today! Bye 🙂
