What’s up everyone! Apologies for writing this 4 days, late but better late than never (which almost happened, not going to lie). Tuesday was pretty chill, all things considered. I probably woke up as I normally did given I don’t remember anything happening that morning. From this, I suppose I woke up at 8:40, got dressed, and headed to the 9 AM lecture on Monte-Carlo simulations, which are basically just brute-force simulations.
After the 3 hour lecture, I, in all likelihood, headed back to the dorms to take a shower, a 20 minute power nap, and get ready for the day before leaving to Chase Dining Hall for a quick lunch and a speed walk back to make it back in time for a guest speaker, Dr. Sickafoose, at 1:30. She talked about her experience in planetary and observational astronomy, focusing on stellar occultations by trans-Neptunian objects. I found it to be quite interesting as she shared her stories of traveling the world to capture these rare events. Following the talk, we got some time to work and socialize until 4:30, after which I headed back to the dorms for a 40 minute power nap before going down once again to Chase Dining Hall for dinner.
Can’t really remember anything about that dinner but it was probably decent, although the food quality has been quite variable. Afterwards, I took another 20 minute power nap before once again heading to Phillips for work and social time, but frankly I cannot recall what we were doing that day. We headed back to the dorms at 1 AM though where I hung out with friends until 1:30 AM when we all diligently went to sleep so as to not violate quiet hours or be tired the following day.
