Hey y’all!! My name is Katie Beth and I am from Mobile, AL. Here is what I look like….
Today started off mundane but it quickly turned around when the faculty brought us donuts to celebrate the week.For lab and lecture we worked on manual genome mapping and it involved a lot more water than I expected!
After that, we dressed up and headed to the event for college and career day! We were treated to lunch and then got to hear from admissions representatives from Caltech, Harvey Mudd, and Purdue. Although I was not very interested in the schools I learned a lot about the college admissions process. Then had a short break and headed to dinner! Our keynote speaker was AMAZING, she is a scientist who is also an advocate for science policy!
Overall today was great!
